Dewi's Pictures
1 Attachment(s)
Dewi was having difficulty postinghis pics (cus they are 5 million bites!!) so he has asked me to post this one for him. More to come.
Dewi: Well you asked for it, don't want to overload you so just the one pic, will send you pics of the in-line filter I use when I clean it tomorrow. Strange how these fish congregate at this end of the pond, you would think they have friends at that end, Some of the flowers have now died back while others are fighting for life and new ones begin theirs, the grass has been burned by the sun which has been shining for the last month. This showes the effectiveness of a filter in the pond to combat our problematic water. Or at least to make it look clean. |
Looking at the photo, is that the end of a waterfall in the top left hand side :-) .
Koi look good too :) |
Yes, we certainly need more pictures. I think some one must be feeding those koi when Dewi isn't around, they look pretty fat!
|
Nice yard! Looks like they are waiting for your statue to throw them some food
|
That was my thought too Busy LOL
Looks great Dewi, now where's the rest of the pictures?????!!!!!! |
Bl***y raining, cant send pics of the inline filter, untill theres a break in the clouds, Me and my big mouth heatwave for over a month, well its over........................well its still warm but wet. Yes its a waterfall Merlin, natural rock from a quarry near where I live, but its leaking slightly I lose about an 1" of water over 8hr's so need to find the leak ansd repair it. Those fish shouldn't be fat, those two fairies use them at night when every ones asleep, perhaps its they who feed them busy!! :) besides I thimk them rather sleek and elegant. :-P

Missed these when they hit my mailbox but better late than never.
From Dewi: Ok so its stoped raining, some pics, one is of the filter I attach to the suction side of the pump, This one of course was bought from a pond center. The one I had originally was made from two planter boxes filed with foam, then one was forced into the other so that there was no open side. some single flex was used to tie them together, but string would suffice. Then a hose as in the picture. It worked equally as well as the one I have now. The second is of my pond, as I've already said the waterfall is leaking slightly therefor I've turned it off. The fillter at the top of the falls is a bio fillter, the one by the side of the pond usually takes up residence behind the small tree, with a tee conector and then a single hose the one you see in the pic running to the pond. This is a bio mech filter with a built in UV. |
My futur brother-in-law ( if he ever decideds to marry my sister , only been together 18 years  ) is using a simular filter to the one in the pic, he is always complaining that he has to clean it out once a week, he also has it linked to a 20 gallon bio filter, his pond only holds around 100 gallons, ( goldfish only) .
How do you get on with your filter. ? |
Oh I'm cringing
I would move heaven and earth to talk people out of purchasing those types of filters when I worked at the Garden Centre... really they are a glorified sponge filter with a handful of bio media - and maintenance intensive to boot and make a mess when pulling them out of the pond. Now for a small QT this would be "ok", for a small goldfish/water garden it would "do". Sorry Dewi  hey if it works for you why change... |
|
Dewi, please don't take offense to my (humble) opinion :) - and don't you dare keep your thoughts to yourself! Exchange is how we learn from on another, and as a certian koi keeper says(quote) "There is NO ONE TRUE WAY" to do anything, especially when it comes to koi and their keep.
BTW, my comment about cringing was in jest ;) |
:) little fingers
|
You're silly ;-) Now I look silly too considering it looks like I replied to nothing rofl
Ok Dewi my friend, anti-up... more pics please... I know you're gardens must be busting and I remember past photo's! |
