We have lots of red ear slider babies hatch out every year...this year we had one that would go from pond to pond. and wasn't afraid of anything.he thought he owned the place. usually would stay sunning on the rocks even when people were around....and I kinda got attached to him...even named him-Franklin....usually the others leave in the fall or sooner and go to the creek behind the house...So I tried to catch him earlier and put him in the gh to winter over...but, he disappeared and I assumed he left too...well I was netting out some leaves yesterday and look who I found....He will be staying in the gh from now on

Franklin is quite cute for a turtle :-) Glad you found him, I'm sure he will enjoy his stay in your greenhouse!

Tranquility, glad you found the little guy. My kids grade school playground boarderd the swampy edge of a pond and every year the painters would lay their eggs in the sand of the baseball diamond. And every year my boys would bring home hatchlings and I'd let them raise them till they could catch and eat the feeder goldfish. Then I would make them return them to the pond, which was a private arboratoum for a college. Fun times when the kids were little.
