No more punctured liner? Does the rain from the cane mess with the PH in a concrete pond, or do you do like Luke and keep it topped off?

I'm a little peEved 'cause u can barly see the pond behind us..[in da party pic] .and it was lowered 8inches 'cause certain ppl thought I was too DEEP/HIGH !!!

Jackie Ramo
12-04-2005, 11:20 PM
When I saw the party I thought you'd finished. Get to work, no party til the pond is done !bonk Still it was good to review the ablum and see how much work you have done. Its looking great but I think of those poor fish in that little bitty tank waiting for their new home.....

Terri
12-05-2005, 09:50 AM

Randy Yeh Mon
12-11-2005, 06:21 PM
In the first pic we r sifting the sand!!!! the sand comes from the river mouth where it enters the sea, so it is salty and full of organic matter, also full of garbage that ppl dump in da rivers !!

yah, we does things da hard way, slow too

http://community.webshots.com/album/280029673SCWIOb/9

OH I FORGOT TO MENTION........TWO OF MY WORKERS TODAY ONLY HAVE ONE GOOD EYE !!!

Randy Yeh Mon

.....................

I'm a little peEved 'cause u can barly see the pond behind us..[in da party pic] .and it was lowered 8inches 'cause certain ppl thought I was too DEEP/HIGH !!!

THIS IS BECAUSE THE PPL WITH THE DOLLARS AND WHO OWN THE PLACE SIAD SO [POND TOO HIGH] WE STILL HAVE TO RAISE 'NEPTUNE' so da fish he stands on can still spit in da water!!

Jackie Ramo
12-11-2005, 08:52 PM
Why are you sifting sand in the first place or is it part of the cement stucco you are applying?

Well you know the ppl with the $$$ always get their own way.

Randy Yeh Mon
12-13-2005, 08:22 PM

I would put a collar on (a union). The blue domes are Kiddy sleds. I doubt you will find them in your area. You would have to order them on-line. I bought all the ones they had here and shipped them to Luke. Hanging baskets work also they are about 16" diameter.

Randy Yeh Mon
12-17-2005, 11:07 PM
Greg, I got some metal pans 5ins. deep and about 2ft. across guess i'll use dose !!
it's a great idea and easy 2 install [seems 2 me]

Greg,
The kid sled saucer things also make an excellent mold for a very large birdbath. Just grease that puppy up with some Crisco and fill it with plaster. Putting it on top of a garbage can while filling it will keep the mold nice and round too.
:)
It can also be used as a throwing bat as long as the wheel speed is pretty low.

........Good Thing We Have Strong Rum In Grenada !!!

Yesterday they said, 'we go plaster de whole ting over.'
Today, they r patching spots inside and plastering OUTSIDE .
Well me know it gonna still leak ...but less...then I'll use some sealer that works on that.
Point is, labor is hard to find...these guys r imported from Guyana [to wk on my mom's roof] ...and they r the ones my Bro gave me to work with !!
Pond is really being financed by my Bro in law !!

THING IS, THEY [the wkers] QUESTION EVERY THING BECAUSE THEY COME FROM A BIGGER COUNTRY [they think small islanders r brainless]]

had to have an engineer to come to confirm what I learned here [on the Boards] and my brother present [who is also a mechanical engineer] to give them the directions [they r paid by him] !!! :-P
