Pulled the last few stragglers out of this 1 1/2 month old pond. Will probably be setting this pond up for this years grow outs.

Here is what remained in the bottom of the pond. Not bad for a few stragglers. Even got a few surprises.

I don't know why the pond didn't look that big in the other pics but its huge!!!

I have a black and dark silver one in the pond now that I'm keeping an eye on as until your post I hadn't seen one before. I realized today that mine are no longer babies but little fish!!! My how they grow!!

BTW what about the black ones, I have a half dozen or so of those... hard to see or take pics of but I see the pellets move :)

What exactly are you doing to prepare the mud pond for grow out - besides draining it?

I would have thought the chagoi/soragoi/magoi(karasu) would have been larger? They perhaps from a later spawn? Glad I don't need new glasses, a few of those longfins shoud be very nice

Yes Terri, they are from a later spawn. They are only 1 1/2 months old. We drain the pond and remove any remaing koi. Whe then wash it down and then lime it. Thats about it.
