Cinnamon and Rem have had some problems recently and now have house guests from NOLA as well so they haven't been able to post much. Here is the finished pond which looks just perfect for parties. BTW I understand the party was a big success.
Cin, sent me this URL so that they are not totally out of touch and can still share with us:

Thanks Terri and Busy B! :-)
Special thanks to you too Jackie for putting that post up there.
I can't express enough how good it feels to finally get a project completed!
It was a group effort of Pam and myself as well as the fine people here at Koi Reflections. Allen, your upflow filter idea works like a charm. We got more good ideas from seeing other projects and talking/chatting with other members and the information from this forum was priceless.
The christening party went off without a hitch. The crowd was good and the music wasn't half bad. The lead singer of the band we were to have out was not able to make it; so since we had all of our equipment already set up, our band took the stage. Nobody broke anything, nobody knocked anything over, nobody took any swims (which was probably my greatest concern!), no fights, it was just a great time.
I am proud to say.... DONE!!

Happy to hear all went off without a hitch  You two should be proud of what you've both done... this is something you will now have time to sit back and just enjoy for years to come.

We appreciate all the good vibes. I was finally able to get to my computer this morning so I could post.
Merlin I did add a few more pics to show in relation where the pond is located. It is hard to see in the pics. But I think these will help.
It really feels good to say "DONE"!!!! Finally! Like the song.. It has been a long, long time coming :)
I hope to be able to catch up on posts and everything I have missed soon! I will post on another section what has been going on.

Now I remember the pond, the first time I saw the bridge I fell in love with the chunky rope :) . The pond looks brilliant and as for the crazy paving that must have taken ages to work out. :-? .

Jackie Rem and I have been talking about netting them and taking pics to measure them. He suggested putting a measure in the bottom of the pond so we don't stress them and us by catching them. So I came up with an idea. I have a 4' level that has a scale on the side with large numbers. If I lay that in the pond and as they swim past it I can snap a pic. I know the biggest is now pushing approx 18". Not bad for one year's growth! They were officially one year in August.

The downside of that way of measuring is it depends on what level the fish is at,closer they will appear to measure bigger. Actually netting the fish is good practise and gets them used to being handled. Says she who can't catch the darn babies in her pond...
18" in year is fantastic!!!

Agree with Jackie on that one, best to net and bowl for best results. :-) As long as you don't go mad chasing them round the pond for too long, they should not get too stressed. !strut
