Ok...I have pretty well established that I don't have a hole in my liner...BUT I am loosing several gallons out of my pond. I believe its from the splash out and minor drips on my external filters. Thats ok...I can deal with it..BUT I am wondering how much splash out is normal? Or I guess a better way to ask is how much water loss is exceptable?
I am not sure how much I lost. My pond is about 11.5 X17 and it went down probably an inch...but some of that was my fault too cause I was working on the features and lost some water....
I did not have any level changes until I moved the filters and raised the water feature increasing splash.

What do you mean by Splash Out?
Losing one inch over a day to evaporation in the summer months is pretty normal, the loss can be more or less depending on air temperature from night to day and wind plays a part too.
Mid-July we were losing upto 3 inches a day, average air temp being 32C. Now we're down to about 1 1/2" a day with the cooler weather we've been having.

Okay...thats what I wanted to know. I lost about 1 inch over 3 days...and I was worried...but my pond IS at the top of a small hill, in direct sun, and gets wind...so I KNOW there is a large amount of evaporation.
Oh and by splash out I mean, when my water feature channels the water and it hits the rocks and "splashes" small droplets are lost on a regular basis...infact...I kinda need it because I am cultivating heavy vine growth around my pump head (not the pump that does the water but the water feature is an old pump head).......droplets that hit the rocks usually immediately evaporate because of the heat here.

From your description the losses you are having sound pretty normal given the weather we've been having. Also on a windy day you will lose more than on a cloudy day. So if you can judge losses based on weather you can be sure it isn't a leak, as leaks will be the same every day.

3 inches in a day :???: crikey Terri send some of that  over here. We have just had the hotest week of this year, and the boat pond is only down an inch
