Stopped by the farm today and snapped a few pics of the grow out pond.
Just cant appreciate the color of these koi in this dark water. Farmer Pat
says that the darker watered ponds deepen the color of his tropicals. He doesnt know why.............says it just does.......HMMMM Gonna have to check into this one. Hard to tell from these pics because the water is so dark, but he is definitly right. Cant wait to pull this pond!
Just an observation.....out of the ninty some odd ponds on this farm, only four have this darker water. All supplied from the same well.

I kept two from last years batch and one was a sympathy keep. Nice kohaku but had one bad eye. Was a real fighter and always first in my hand at feeding time. Just what I needed........A one eyed fish. GEEEEEEZZZZZ!

A one eyed fish with personality and spirit is worth more than a pretty that dies when the first small thing goes wrong.

Can't beleive how big they are!! Showed my tank guys and told them to get growing!!

would love to see these ponds close up and personal. It's hard to imagin all those little fish, even with the videos and pictures.

Keifer I have 8 in a 29 gallon tank, today they got some lava rocks from the TT filter covered in nice algae and green worms - yum!! One little guy ate 4 green worms all of them as big as his head!!! wet pigs indeed!

I'm pleased with them since they came in not much more that egg sacks with eyes attached. Watching them change from transparent somethings to real fish has been an education. I can't believe how much such little things eat though!!!

No prizre winners here just pond mutts butone already knows me and runs over when he sees me near the tank, knows its food time
