I thought I would finally upload some pics of what we have been working on lately. I know I haven't said much yet. I wanted to have the pics up first. Last year we bought some cast iron park benches. The finish did not hold up and they almost ruined. So I sanded them down and put a mahogany stain then sealed them. The pics are under the Bench project.

We also bought a new patio wicker set for our deck that adjoins the pond. We plan on covering permanently at a later date. A guy gave Remmy 2 - 20' 3" in diameter poles. So he took pvc and built a frame to make a dome from the outside posts then to the house. The umbrella on our new set is 9' tall. I had ordered some greenhouse fabric to put over the shallow end of the pond to block some light. When Rem bought the big side arm umbrella we didn't need it. So he used it on top. Pics are at the above link under Dome deck cover.

I do have some new pics of my pond plants in pond pics July 2005 folder.
Jackie I did upload some pics of all the flowers in my yard also :) They are under Flowers 2005. They are listed first!

Pam the benches look great. Lots of work to take them apart and reassemble, its the reassemble that drives Smith crazy. He still hasn't got my new garden wagon altogether yet and has only broken one part....

WOW I'd forgotten about the lunar moth picture. Huge darn thing. Haven't seen one here since I was a child.

Nice finished product to the bench! I have one similar and since I left it out all winter, I notice the same problem...the varnish is peeling. Really like the dark stain.

Can see how you get so much done with the size of that woodshop! Looks like paradise!

Jackie the first Luna Moth we saw was a few years ago. Heiko had remarked that he hadn't seen one since he was young. Now we see one every year. I did some research on them. When they land and hang around one place they are about to die :(

Busy my shop makes it kind of nice :) My part is bigger than Heiko's part of the shop  Mine had cold a/c and a great heater as well. I have 900 sq. ft with every tool imaginiable haha.

I am glad you both liked the pics :)

Smith has taken over the garage for his workshop so the car sits in the driveway... oh well he clears it of snow not me. Not heated or air conditioned though so in winter he tends to be underfoot.

I'm still working on getting a bench, maybe I'll just have to start looking now that everything is getting clearanced out. Seems my hubby prefers his tacky white plastic chair says it's "more comfortable then any old hard bench" I usualy get my way sooner or later. I have my eye on a little bistro set I like, that may come first.

We have one bench that hubby built, made from the foot board of a four psoter bed he made years ago. I'd take a pic but it is holding all my junk right now
