Well, got home saturday nite from work......frogs were really loud in the pond.....told them to shut up, and went to sleep.
Sunday - woke up, decided seeing it was only mid-80's, to finally clean out my daughter's storage shed (save her some money - and don't think she's moving back here from Florida) instead of shop vacing the pond. Didn't even go out to the pond - figured if I did, I would start working on that. 4 truck loads later (gary helped with the last one - the furniture), just got everything put away and under tarps - it started raining. I saw alot of activity from the kitchen window in the pond, but didn't think anything of it - thought they were going after the rain drops like they usually do.
Well, this morning....went out to finally start working on the pond. What a mess......fish have had a really good time....foam everywhere - pieces of lily pads everywhere - fish eggs everywhere - frogs eggs everywhere......a total mess.
First thought - drain the pond completely - and refill  , but coming back to reality, going to do a pp treatment, shop vac, drain some more water, and refill.......pull out as many of the eggs as I can.......and start all over..

At least my fish are happy, the frogs are happy, even tho I am unhappy..

Just when you thought the kids were grown and gone, no more picking up after 'em, time to relax and enjoy life... fishkids are worse ;) LOL It happens to us all and for the most part I enjoy everything about fish keeping... but the spawning clean up I could do without as well Karyl

Well no frogs here but by the look of the mess in the skimmer the fish had to be up to something last night, more lily pads in there then in the pond I think, no eggs that I could see though.

You might consider separating the boys from the girls if this goes on muh longer. This is what the 6th spawn this season.... I would have thought frogs would be done by now as well.... mom nature always full of surprises.

I can't believe the number of frogs that have started calling my fish pond home. They seem to be migrating from the wetlands near us, lol.
They are even living under the gazebo next to the pond......when you are in there, you can hear them under there.....

And here I am frogless... wanting frogs and they have not arrived... yet I read post after post on the boards of folks complaining about them...

A little MG in the pond will stop the spawning of the fish at least. Not something I regularily recommend but in your case, you and the fish need a break.

Jackie,
I feel guilty now about all the frogs we have! :(
I wish there was a way to send you some. I vaccuumed quite a few tadpoles up this past weekend. :(
I promise, we have plenty to spare. We have them pretty much year round with our sub tropical climate. The grow BIG TOO. I will try to find a picture of one I came across sitting in the street by the house. About the size of frozen chicken in the supermarket. Fortunately, it was before the days of the pond.

Used to hunt frogs for their legs when I was a child... taste like chicken!!! Sounds like that one would taste more like turkey!!!

!rofl Charla, yes they sure were tastey. My Uncle used to cook them, deep fried in some sore of batter. Now of course I'd be racked with guilt eating the poor things but in those days there were lots of frogs--- big fat bullfrogs as large as dinner plates. Now they are smaller and less of them.

..

I just bet they didn't shut up!

Heck we've even got a few tree frogs which are still in our swimming pool!
DD and I took a late night swim and sure enough there was one in the pool with us. Naturally she had to catch it and play with it for awhile.

We have a Mom & Pop Diner that still serves frog legs on their buffet, every Friday night.
DH and I ate there a few weeks ago, first time in a few years and we knew why...... came home feeling like $hit, we can't handle all of that greasy country cookin'!
