Good question.. I planted it three summers ago, this being summer number three and it looked like it was dead when I bought so I didnt pay to much attention to the details, just planted it... I don't know the name...
:(
Thanks for the compliments you all...
Heres some pics of the virginia creeper growing along the fence...
This pic also shows the hops growing along the front of the house.

Watch that Virginia Creeper, it will eat your house!! Mine has eaten th elilac and apple trees and is headed for the house
Well it is a very pretty clematis. I have two blue ones but neither are as pretty as that one nor as healthy but next year will be their third year so I can hope they will finally take hold.

Oh Jo Jo, such a pretty garden, you've really worked hard. Love the colors, you have such pretty blues.
Mine was sooo pretty a couple of years ago ...bum knee + gophers = mostly gone garden! I wanted to get it going again this spring but with the new knee and rehab it just didn't happen. This fall and next spring I'm going to GET BUSY!! I'm going to have to try a clematis you and Jackie have inspired me.

Charla, clematis are truly the most wonderful vines to grow in the garden. One for each spot you need covered. I have about 12 most of them different. Always looking for a new one but the market here seems to be all purples or dark reds and I have those already. Wish they would come up with a nice pale yellow one.
