Yesterday when I went to feed fish I fond a baby! If this would have been in the big pond I would not question it, but it is in our little one. This pond is stocked with very little goldfish from the Petco feeder (death) tank. Also a few weeks ago this pond was accidently drained and we lost all but one of them. The two ponds are not connected by a stream or close enough for fish to jump back and forth. My husband thinks that an egg from the big pond somehow got sucked into the small pump we have in the skimmer and traveled through the hose to the little pond. Is that Possible???? I have been brushing and netting algae from the bottom of the big pond so I may have brought up an egg, how long do they gestate before becoming a fry???????? I'm sure it must be a goldfish, our koi are all new this year and only about 8"
