I thought I would post the link to a couple of pics of our bridge railing. Heiko drilled out 11 posts 2.5" diameter. He did get 4 posts set in late last night. Only 7 more to go. He cut out the deck boards and mounted to the substructure of the bridge with 2 long lag bolts. He had thought about bolts and nuts and I told him the best and easiest way would with the lag bolts.
Me I have been taking it easy except all my pond maintenance haha. I did build my FIL one of the butt can stands for Father's Day.

Nice Pam, it will accent your nautical theme. Glad to see the two of you are still working. I hate to think of you taking it easy :frisbee:

Are you the envy of the neighborhood yet? Any new holes being dug in their back yards

Busy most of my neighbors don't even know it is there. You cannot see it from the road in front of the house. I told one neighbor about it and she hasn't come to see it yet. I don't think people around here are that enthused with ponds. She did ask why we put it in back where no one can see it. I told her away from prying eyes and the punks down the road. That way they won't try to vandalize it. The majority of our friends hasn't see anything but pics. They are ready to come to the Pond Party at the end of August :)
As far as new holes, we both have to finish this one first! We have tossed it around but we have to recoup from this one first!

...patting myself on the back... and Cinn too!
I am amazed each time I walk out there on the deck and see what we have built. Even though we are not quite finished, she is getting close enough to where it feels like it is finished. I can't help but just stand there staring in amazement at this project. When I think of each step, the detail, the sweat, the drawings, the sketches, the material, the anything else I've forgotten,.... well it just amazes me.
I feel like a proud pappa!
Walter came over the other night to help me stare at the pond. He is my right hand man on the heavy stuff and has also been there in the soupy trenches since the conception. He and I were both staring into it and I asked him, "you remember when we were out here with the cutting torches and flood lights down in the pit bending rebar for the chainwall??"
He laughed. He said , you know...., I forgot about that!
There has since litteraly been a "lot of water under that bridge". :)
As you can tell, I am sitting here at my desk simply day dreaming.
...but I'm not hooked. No way! Not at all.
If you think my grocery store shopping trips are risky, you should send me to the parts house for a simple sparkplug!!
Time for me to get back to work.
2nd pond idea......
A CASTLE. The moat would be the obvious. The castle would house the equipment. A drawbridge would grant access to the "equipment room".
...yes, I am day dreaming! PLEASE, SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!

The to of you have worked very hard and deserve to feel proud at all you have done. A few months to sit back and enjoy and as soon as the cool weather hits a new hole in the ground!!!
Luke who has gone off to a koi show in Britian right now is building Lake Luke that has an island in the middle, quite an enterprise for sure and lots of hard work. Maybe when he gets back he'll post a pic or two.
