Pond is back up and operational...again...found the leak...refilled...hubby was impatient and wanted the fish back in it. Also...going by the dimensions of the pond, we figured way higher gallonage...bought a meter. Topped off at 2600 gallons.

Found out too it's hard to take pics of fish in blue buckets when there's glare:roll:

Here's my DIY skimmer....totally unconventional but better than nothing. The spruce are throwing pollen and the cotton is blowing from the cottonwoods. Used a mini fountain pump, a gerbil litter box, couple chunks of matting and something I found at the hardware store that I think fits in a mop bucket. Stuck the pump into it with another hunk of matting. Need the rocks to weigh it down. Pretty ugly but gathered up alot of pollen and cotton.

Greg...do you think it's worthy for your CD?!rofl

Very clever, maybe you should make your own video. Glad your up and running. My hubby wants to open our little pond this weekend. We'll see rain in the forcast.

I don't know if she's full of eggs or just fat and dumpy from being stuck in a fish tote for the winter...

Definately ugly...but functional.. for the moment anyway...

I'm leaning towards a Savio...soon as the hole gets dug..

Note to self...small pump does not work when it's snowing from the trees

Hooked up bigger pump...so far today have gathered a handful of soggy cotton.
