So are we all out and about or are there some like me that will be ponding :) .

Ok first Drain off around 500 gallons from the main pond, then catch all the fry that seem to be multipying in there !wow!. These are am going to transter to the Boat pond. I have two rather nice Ghosts of around 6" in the front pond that will think it's their birthday when they get put in to the main pond. . 400 gallons in to 2000 gallons.

Partial water change on the Boat pond and check on filter and UV, ( combined unit and despite two new bulbs the UV is not working ) .

Water checks on both ponds, and if I have time 3 underwater rock lights to be installed on the main pond. Ok that lot will take me a couple of hours ( I wish) then I believe it will be time for a Beer. :)

I'd like to see picture's of this boat pond... and your babies Merlin :-)

Not a nice weekend here, it's raining outside. After a couple weeks of "green" the koi pond seems to be clearing up, visibility is about 2 feet now.. and no UV yet. Our new pump didn't arrive yesterday as promised by the supplier so we'll have to wait until next weekend to flip over the filter to the outside pond and add fish... hopefully it's nicer next weekend.

Yes, not the best weather here but some chores to be done anyway. Have to clean the skimmer mats, but the water change can wait until to morrow morning.

I'd love to see the boat pond!!!

I almost killed myself doing the pond thing today! I am dern sure wore out! It took from 10 am to 3:15pm trying to get rid of those worms and the mess they leave. I didn't take a break at all. I almost collapsed. Heiko was going to vaccum the pond again and the shop vac broke!! So now in a little while after resting we go to Wally World for a new Shop Vac. That is if my back let's me go! And hot too. I got way too hot out there. That alone affects my MS something horrible. I will be down I have a feeling for a few days but then I will be back going strong again :)

Jackie I sure wish I could have sent you some of this heat and humidity today! It was tough! Oh BTW great talking to you

Thanks so much for calling Pam, it was great to talk to you both. You have to learn to pace yourself. I did manage to get that water change done yesterday and the small bioforce filter out to the big pond. Just trying to figure out if my back is up to moving the TT out there today.... its heavy and that water is cold.

Watch those water numbera for the next couple of days Pam, Sometimes a major cleaning disturbs the good bugs and they go on strike.

I will Jackie. I ran out of ammonia test kit and it should be here in a couple of days. I forgot I was out last week. :( Sometimes the memory is not too good. I will keep a close eye on the rest. I sure need the ammonia kit for sure!

I couldn't hang today. I tried potting my Parrot Feathers. It was too hot by 10:30 for me. Heiko is vacuuming out the pond today. I have to sit out there and turn the shop vac on and off. I have to sit with a bag full of ice on my head to make it. At times I just have to come in. I can see what the summer is going to be like for me. !wow! I told Heiko it will just take a couple of days to bounce back. He said I know. I am resting now since it is 1:36 pm. Way too hot!

Take it easy, ponds are supposed to be fun. We had the opposite here, too cold to do much. Koi Club meeting and having the grandson overnight took up most of the day. Did get the new aqaurium filled will start the pump tomorrow and move the Betta. He'll think he's king of the world. one betta in a 29 gallon tank... I need more fish....its a sickness

Yes Jackie, it was a nice weekend. Got a little sunburn too!
It feels good to be back at work where I can get some rest.

All that work this weekend and you know I STILL didn't install that check valve???? Jeesh.
I know what I will be doing when I get in this evening. Shouldn't take long, just a couple of cuts, some glue, and there you have it. Sounds simple, easy, fool-proof. What could possibly go wrong?

How on earth do you know about Murphy's law Jackie !wow! I thought that was a term that was only used in the UK and Ireland :) .

Murphy's law for those that do not know the meaning, is that whatever can go wrong will go wrong :(. It is well known in the Uk, I was unaware that it had stretched across the oceans :) .

Well you forget that Canadians are honorary Brits anyway but yes, Murphy is well travelled and I suspect world wide. I do wish he would take a vacation and visit somewhere else than here for a change though.

Here is one that I think will fit in under this categorie!!
FROGS, FROGS, and FROGS!
We had a much needed, well overdue, thunderstorm yesterday that dumped a very large amount of rain on us in a very short time. Filled up the pond instantly but the overflow system worked great. No problems there.
About an hour after the rain stopped, we heard a few frogs croaking. Went out there with the flashlights and saw them at various points around the pond. Scooped them up with a net for relocation purposes, and then we saw them up on the deck. They were on the rocks, the walls, driveway, litterally everywhere. The noise was so *LOUD* it actually would hurt your ears. Out in the yard it looked like popcorn there were so many frogs! Hundreds. No THOUSANDS!! Reminded me of a Stephen Speilberg movie.
Needless to say, I put the net away in disbelief. Thankfully our house is virtually sound proof.
Pam is busily removing frog eggs. yuck

One of the guys I work with said, "...ya know they taste like chicken, don't you?"

That is too funny!!! Is the house sound proof so that the neighbours won't hear when Pam is giving orders.
