I have waited not very patiently I can tell you, for my Texas Dawn to bloom. This morning the bud opened wide! It is beautiful. It is larger than the Rembrandt blooms. There are 2 more buds right behind this one. I know the Rembrandt opened on Monday and Saturday was the last time it opened up. AT that time I clipped it off. Heiko came home one day from work so he could see it  .

Busy if you say so! We are tickled at every little thing. There is another bloom that will break the surface tomorrow :)

Jackie it looks like the bloom is sinking tonight :( That was a short lived flower. 2 Days? Wow. I have another on bulb about to break the surface. Heiko had to take me to Houston to see my Dr today. He did get to see it open when we arrived back home.

Yes, lily blooms are short lived and the hotter it is it seems the faster they fade. Cool days in fall here they last all of 5 days :)

My water poppy had 2 blooms yesterday. They closed up as well. Will they open back up today? The don't look like they are going to. So new and so much to learn about everything! Do you ever think I will get out of Newbie status?
