!wow! !wow! !wow!
Yesterday it was 78 degrees....IN APRIL?????
I don't know if we set a record but I can't remember April being this warm. If this is a sign of things to come, there will be a burn ban and the fire season will be scary again...
I'm not really complaining:) It felt goooooodddd!

Ice has been gone about a week and it hasn't froze over the last few mornings. I haven't had time to clean it out yet tho and there's a tear from a stupid moose, so I have to fix the liner again...but I broke my sump pump and need to drain the water more to patch sooooo...
Yeah...warm weather

My poor back was bemaoning the fact that spring and all its chores had arrived. Why does it seem it all needs to be done now!!!

I saw our first butterfly yesterday, the ice is off Lake Simcoe, Moma Robin is sitting on eggs, and the doggie-do bucket is smelled before being seen. That and the Income Tax filing deadline are sure signs of spring round here.
Sympathies on your back, Jackie. I've worn out two pairs of gloves moving stone and earth these past couple of weeks. T3's now replace my morning Centrium multi-vitamins. I shoulda had a son twenty years ago instead of five so it seems....LOL

Well I haven't seen a butterfly yet although I did see one in March. Mourning cloaks overwinter as butterlies... more mazing than Monarchs when one thinks of how cold it got.
The Cardinals have rebuilt the nest... I think the sparrows may have eggs already.

Wow! 78 in Alaska! And then on the flip side here, we set record lows 2 nights in a row this past week!! It was up in the 80s during the day and it dipped to 47F at night! Global warming? We have another cool snap this weekend. Very unusual. I tell everyone to enjoy it because it can't last long. We go from Winter to Summer fast! Not much Spring temps here!

Not bad here today sunny but around 50F nice out of the wind. A glass of wine by the pond was my reward for working all day trying to tidy the darn mess up. Yes, pond work tomorrow or Sunday, a vac and water change are due. One hopes the weather holds.

Had the last 2 days off, did some plant shopping, Just can't seem to get in the digging mood. My back has been bad for the last week, finaly feeling good enough to go work out. This weekend I'm hoping to get more accomplished and unless work calls I have Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri off to get things done. Bad thing is that means one day on a paycheck, that sucks, can't buy many plants with that. Told them 40 hrs was to much lately so they stuck it to me, should have kept my mouth shut.

Couple warm days and then back to normal!dude Trees are leafing out already...mosquitoes are showing up:mad: Without another hard freeze we're going to be eaten alive! Fires have started in different places but not huge ones...yet...we'll need some rain to get thru this dry spell.
I'm with you on the back Marla:wink: It's either my back or my feet...still haven't had a chance to clean out the pond..walk by and see the water beetles having a hayday...I should just take a day off and play in my own yard.

Snow flurries  Don't say that 4 letter word!
The fires have started ...Homer a town about 80 miles away has a fire...5,000 acres so far have burned and it's still going...worst part is alot of the trees in that area of the peninsula have beetle killed spruce..so they burn like matchsticks. We got a dose of rain and more is supposed to come...at this point, we need it..

80 miles isn't that far for forest fires. Glad you got some rain. We got snow and ice pellets here... but the weather guys say its warmer and sunnier each day forward now.

Forest fires what are they then :???:, In the UK they have a way to get round that problem, they cut them down and build on the area :-x .

Funny to read that 6 days ago we had ice pellets, spent today in the pond wearing shorts. Spring, brings funny funny weather.
