Okay Ian I took your tips and this is my first try at taking pics at night. It is so far down to our water level that it is hard not to get my hand in the shots  I didn't do too bad I don't think. If my Koi was as big as ya'lls I could  They are steadily growing. I plan on netting them in a few months and measure them again to see how much they have grown.

I think it's amazing how vibrant the colors are at night and how active they are:) They look quite content to follow you around and zoom in and out of the lilies!dude
I want my pond back:-P

They certainly look good and healthy. Bigger as well!!!! Did you get them all at Brett's?

Jackie only 6 of them came from Brett's. The original butterfly koi was bought at the pond place. They have grown a lot since they started out about 3" long. One of the Kohaku's I got from Brett appears to be turning into a 3-stage. When I first got it you could barely see the white line before the tail to seperate the red. Now that it is growing you see the white a lot better. :)
That one is the next to the biggest fish I have. It's name is Medusa. Whether it is a male or female I have NO idea

Now you are learning why to buy a fish with too much red, it seldom grows as fast as the white so the white can take over the pattern. They are probably to young and small to sex as yet. Personally I prefer to boys!! Nicer shape and less problems because of spawning.

I hate dial-up...
I'm still looking (could take me all day to see them all !rofl ) but I think they look great, happy and healthy!! Good pics Cin

Terri thanks! I know I am stuck on dialup and have been for years! I get 28.8 luckily. Next week I get to solve that problem. I am getting wireless internet! YEA! It is the only way we can get high speed. And the office is about 1/2 mile from me. Way out here in BFE!

You did a great job.. I haven't had that much luck with mine. In fact the pictures I took when I had them all out of the pond in the blue tubs pretty much suck, even using the macro function.

Thanks Busy I am glad everyone liked the pics! Busy the wireless is the ONLY way we can get high-speed. I am tickled they are putting it in and they are based out here in the country :) It isn't really a bad price at all. You have installation but the monthly is $39.00. And that is for wireless. I did some checking around across the country on the net and a lot of wireless offered it for $99 and up! We have old phone lines in the ground and SBC is NOT going to spend the money to upgrade them. They say the population is not big enough. Same with the cable company. The people who bought that out offers High-speed but not for here. Too much money to upgrade. So these guys are winning out big time. They are just setting it up. I am the third one to get installed. It had to be good as they ordered another antenna to get a broader range!

Jackie I got a couple a bit ago for you
That is Cinn. You can tell NO food swims by her without her nabbing it. She is a Pig!! I think she is about to spawn again too. She looks like she is full of eggs!
The fish are growing so fast. It is hard sometimes for me because I see them several times a day. When we have company they go WOW! I will try to find a pic of Omega ( the tancho) when we first bought it. I don't have any idea of male or female.
Jackie I found a pic that was taken 2-21-05. 2 months ago. It is kind of blurry but Omega is next to Cinn. WOW what a difference. I knew she had grown but wow. A lot! in just a short time!

Those fish certainly are growing like mad. I hope your tancho stays, did you see poor Lukes disappear in a week... Still the black and white on Omega will stll make her a nice fish.

I've got it's brother or sister...it lost the red as time went on...but has a small bit by the tail. I can still see traces on the head so maybe it will resurface.
How much does the company that comes over think of having a pond after seeing yours?

Jackie I did see Luke's. That was unreal how fast it was gone! They are growing like crazy! When I started comparing pics of just 2 months ago I was totally amazed in the growth they have taken. I was going to net them in a couple of months and bowl them and take pics. I better buy a bigger bowl!
Busy most people that come over love the pond but they have seen EVERYTHING we have went through and they say NO WAY! They love our's. We have a few that stops by to check on the progress.
It won't be long I can have my open pond party! YEA!
Jackie the Fondue Monks are coming to play for it :-)

Hmmmm I wonder how much an airline ticket would cost, sounds like a blast. Hubby has made me delay 2 planned parties so far this year and cancel one last year... Can you tell I'm a party animal. Actually we have about 4 a year most years. No live bands though

Jackie just hop a plane and "Come on down!" I promise it will be a extra GOOD time. And we will take you to Brett's also. How can you turn a deal like that down? Kills 2 birds with one stone!

Never mind, he's talking Nassa now... Truth is Niagara Falls is all the budget will allow  Its his birthday and he wants to go away. I'll find some way to do it. Maybe we can sleep in the engine room on the cruise to Alaska. Heck honey my yard and house are always a mess, just ask Terri, she sees it all the time.

Jackie is he talking Nasa as in Space Agency? You know that is right around the corner. NASA is on the south side of Houston.

 Actually I should ask him to go to NO, we can fly cheap to Gulf Shores, we've done this in the past. hotel and flight for 2 for less than a flight to NO for one. NO = New Orleans, one of our favourite cities.

Must be my ear, always sounded like Naaaaaalins to me  Ate crawfish there but that was before I knew they lived in the dirt...

Jackie speaking of crawfish holes. I did snap a pic of Grandpa Crawdad's home. That timber that is next to it is roughly 19" tall. So that should give you a perspective.
Enjoy :)

Merlin that is a SE Texas crawdad hole! Jackie didn't know they lived in the mud. All Crawdads are mudbugs! So I thought I would show her what my yard looks like every time it rains! I have these all over. It sure makes a mess I can tell you.
I am glad you liked the pics! I keep trying to get some real good ones. I am learning :)
