I am redoing my pond and I had to tear down my last waterfall. This time I would like to do something different but not to expensive.Any suggestions would be nice.In the first pic that is the old waterfall and in the secound pic that is my clean slate to work with.I just have to make sure that it hangs over the wood

You can start where it is now but move it over the corner a little more out to give some protection for the fish to hide under and curve it more so it's not straight across the corner or build it in the middle to the left as there is patio stones on the opposite side so my guess is that your sliding doors are where the picture was taken from, you would be viewing the falls from that area.

I'd build it right across that short side of the pond and use it to hide the rest of the works from view. Keep it straight and formal as that suits the shape of the pond, right now it is a bit 'organic' forthe pond style.

all the filters and hoses are going to be boxed in with the same material that is used on the border of the pond,so you wont see any of that

That will add a nice finish to it. I personally would still like to see a formal waterfall to compliment the shape of the pond.

That make good sense to keep it all formal.

I would use this type of spillway

for this type of effect

stones or wood to box it in and some lights for night viewing

That will give a nice appearance especially at night with some lights focused on it. :yup:
Bricks as seen...stone? I've seen pictures with stone. Looks more natural I think.
Always good to have a project.

Not for me! I have a few projects and no time to work on them. I guess there's always next year.

I like Jackies idea, formal but simple, but remember not to big that it takes away from the pond itself. A simple stock tank as a skippy filter, could be framed in to resemble the pond and then the simple spilllway added to that.
