Thanks for the greeting. I'm really wishing I would have found this site when I was originally looking last year. I'm sure many of my problems are rookie mistakes, and am just heartbroken that my beautiful (and I'm learning expensive too) fish are paying a heavy price for my lack of pond expertise. Lucky I'm not one prone to making the same mistake twice. Next fall a new and improved ice venting solution, netting over the main pond during leafing, free tree pruning services to my neighbor, no pets defecating or small children playing on the ice surface, no chiselling holes to submerge minnow buckets, no untreated tap water mid-winter top ups, better aeriation, and if I have a question, somewhere to ask it that isn't looking for my credit card.

See, things are looking up. Look at all you have learned :frisbee: Sorry, but we have all been there one way or another. Welcome to the board, hopefully we can help you through these problems and make the pond fun again.

Some pics would be nice.

It's an access weekend for me with my 5 year old son, so tomorrow I drive to Haliburton to pick him up, and return him to Haliburton on Sunday night. This regretably means I can't attend your koi club meeting or the pond seminars being held at local garden seminars this weekend. I try and cram a month's worth of daddy time into 72 hours, thus typically our "normal" life gets put on hold until he's back with his mum.

We'll endeavor to make next month's meeting, but always keep a supply of hot and cold beverages available for visitors to our humble abode.

Thanks, Merlin......but as far as "little ones" for problems, what are they ? LOL

No more skin-kids for this 44 year old/one 5 year old boy every third weekend is enough, my two fur-kids (German Shepherds) contribute 5 gallons of doggie do per week, and my fin-kids are into me for a few hundred dollars so far this week......

Who the hell has time or energy for sex to have another "small problem" anyways ??????????
