Well my Lotus is at the bottom of the pond the ledge gave way and down the planter went, guess I not going in to get it out until I repair the rest of the pond then it will be taken out if it's still alive. :banghead: :banghead:
:lol::lol::lol:
They will have a hey day with the new play things and make a bigger mess for you.
Sorry to hear that the ledge gave way. Be very careful yourself, just in case....
If that edge is soft...who knows what other parts are and you will have no way to get out.:banghead::banghead:
Is that ledge near the first one that gave in?

Phil, that does not sound good at all.... You are going to have to put a cement collar around the pond

Yes I know and also have to install sona tubing for the support for the ledges and waterfall. :roll:

Will the cement collar not be enough?
philly

No! if the ground get soft again I want the support to be from the base of the pond and not at the top as the soil gets wet and soft it collapses down to the bottom.

I don't understand why it gets so soft. You have clay, I've seen it!! Maybe it is the depth as mine has that ledge all around and the ground slopes away from the pond.

Who knows what caused it, and the 14,000 plus gallons of water pumped out when the pipes came apart, I'm pretty sure it did not help keep the ground solid.

That part of the collaspe I understand but why now at the other end... we haven't had that much rain. I was in the back garden digging and it is dry there.... no wonder nothing is growing back there.

I think it's because the water level is about 10" below the norm and the weight plus the sides must have collapsed a little causing the tubs to slide down, will investigate when taken apart to satisfy my curiosity. :yup:
