I did water test yesterday and to my astonishment MY POND HAS CYCLED! It took the pool 3 weeks. It has taken only 2 weeks for the pond to cycle and the fish have only been in there 1 week! :yup: We seeded with some tubes out of the pool filter plus I have been putting Microbe-lift bacteria since we started the pumps. It sure looks funny where the pool was. I am so use to seeing blue when I look out back. Now all I see is a big round spot of dead grass!

Perfect place for a new garden then. Seeding really does speed things up.

Going to contact the news media and tell them the big story of the flying saucer that landed in our backyard!!! Have to tell them about all the bright lights... and anything else I can come up with. Could make a fortune. I can just see it now.... lol

I'm glad the pond has cycled so quickly now you don't have to worry so much, you can lay back and enjoy the pond and fish from now onwards.

After the 3 yrs run we have had I do hope it will be smooth sailing for awhile anyway. I was very tickeld the pond cycled. Now I can go back to feeding the fish normally :) I know they will love that. They love to eat 3 times day! Pigs they are :yup:

Cinn, when the kois were in their temporary home what sort of feeding schedule did you have them on, did it affect their growth and size during that time ? :)

Philly I fed them twice a day. The filter was not really big enough for that much water. I had to clean it every weekend which was a chore. But it worked and kept them happy :) They did grow in the pool after one year. I don't know how much because I didn't measure them this time.
I have achieved pea soup now! You can barely see my fish it is so green! I know they like the water like that.

Pea soup green is OK for the fish, it's just that we can't see them properly. I guess it will take a little while for it to clear up naturally. :yup:

It will clear eventually I am sure. It always has before. Then it stays crystal clear from that day forward all the time.
