View Full Version : I broke my new pump!

Well, I may be very industrious this year with all my pond renovations, but one thing I'm not is a "tool guy" Yesterday I needed to switch out impellers on my NEW pump and in doing so used the wrong tool and cracked the plastic seal :crybaby:... leaks like crazy now. So, needless to say I am pumpless at the moment, I've sent out a couple of urgent SOS's and am in hopes I can have this resolved soon. Happened only 24 hours ago and now pond is beginning to look like crap.
My mother always used to say: "Show me a tool and I'll show you a fool"...
Oh, wait a sec, don't think she was talking about the same thing, now that I think of it! :phfft:

That's aweful KD. Do you not have a submersible you can use in the meantime? Best thing about me running 3 submersibles all the time is if one dies, there are still 2 running.

I still have the falls running, so at least there is movement and air being added. Until repaired I'll feed sparingly. Thanks for the kind offer just the same!

Could you not glue it back together for the time being till you get a new one ? even if it leaks a little you be OK with that.

No, unfortunately I'm missing a small section of the puzzle so I'll have to wait for a replacement part - Still waiting for the manufacturer to answer my S.O.S. ?

Could be a long wait unless the manufacturer understands your urgency for the replacement part or the supplier you deal with can get it to you ASAP. :yup:

You can't blame anyone for this as you're the one that broke the part. How did you break the seal ?

Not trying to blame anyone... just stating a fact, it's a complex hobby.

Totally amazed!! MDM in Colorado sent piece UPS overnight and arrived at my door in less than 24 hours, MDM also picked up the shipping charges... Now that's customer service! Installed kit this afternoon and now waiting for the silicone to dry - Will sart up engines in the morning.
