Another step done in my pond Reno's - Water is beginning to sparkle - All that's left to do is hook up my air pump to all 5 stations, fix or replace my UV, install my two new bios and lay out my flush line in the garden beds - Beginning to finally see the light at the end of this very long tunnel.

glad to here, can't wait to see final pictures. Sure wish my water would sparkle, did a vacuum/water change yesterday, check valve didn't hold then when I turned on the water the falls spewed out green, darn I should have cleaned that to but was running out of time and the rain clouds were moving in. Clear today but not sparkling.

All my fish love me... they sense the care and devotion I have toward them... That's why Rexy was looking forward to his pond companion from Toronto - Life would be good for him too!

KD

(I'll stop groveling soon... it's just that, in a very big way, that fish of yours reminds me of my dearly departed Jellybean... :yup:May he R.I.P.)

I added an extra overflow exit (call me paranoid) to the settling chamber just in case the Answer should get clogged or die!

I think the dogs are looking for Rexy, missing in action but not for lunch!!!

You've really got an overhaul going on here.

I have a no niche skimmer and hate the darn thing... the built in one is so much better. Which reminds me I'd better go and unplug the darn thing before it burns out cuz I ain't getting in the pond tonight to clean it.

KD, I see you're pretty neat with your plumbing and your filtration system you have put together seems to be working great, fantastic job well done.

Jackie, I must agree, buit in are the best, but this will have to do.... After never having a skimmer it's a real treat having one to clean the surface, have been doing it manually for over ten years... never did as good a job as this thing, that's for sure!

Thanks Phil for the compliment about my plumbing skills - Think I'm a bit like you, not only does it have to work well, it also needs to be pleasing to the eye - Hate sloppy work!

KD, I have had a skimmer for many years but unfortunately it's still sitting on my shelf in the basement. :yup:

KD, you are right the little skimmer does make a difference and mine would work better if it was plugged in more often but the little sponge in the bottom gets clogged so easily... maybe I should just take it out.

philly
06-30-2009, 06:53 PM
Maybe you should plumb it to an up flow drum with Kaldes in it so you can flush the bottom out without it plugging up on you.

Jackie, Mine doesn't have a sponge - works just great... at least so far!

If you have to clean more often it means the water is being clean. Remember no pain no gain.

Jackie Ramo
07-01-2009, 09:57 AM
Unplugging it and wadding into the pond a couple of times a day is too much pain for me for very little gain.

philly
07-01-2009, 01:43 PM
You install a switch like I told you then all you do is flip it on and off. :HAHA:

Jackie Ramo
07-01-2009, 09:59 PM
Good I'll turn the switch and you wade into the pond to fetch out the sponge, wash it and return it to the skimmer...:frisbee:

You might pull that delegating thing on Smith and get away with it but with me it's a different story. :phfft:

Jackie Ramo
07-02-2009, 09:17 AM
Smith doesn't pay any attention either.... Twice now he said he would paint the shed and twice he hid in the stained glass room... won't even cut the grass.

philly
07-02-2009, 02:06 PM
Does that mean you cut the grass, with all the experience you have maybe you should come over and do my front yard too. :HAHA:

Jackie Ramo
07-02-2009, 06:13 PM
No I refuse to cut the grass. I did it one year and he quit for the rest of the year. I've learned never to take over his chores or they become mine pretty darn quick.

philly
07-03-2009, 12:01 AM
He just wanted you to have fun cutting the grass without any interruptions. :frisbee:

Jackie Ramo
07-03-2009, 09:16 AM
Yeah, I will have to paint the shed without any interruptions as well by the look of things... he's started another stained glass piece.

philly
07-03-2009, 10:44 AM
Well isn't that YOUR shed so rightfully shouldn't you paint it since you're in the trade { you are an Artist } remember.

Jackie Ramo
07-03-2009, 08:37 PM
It is not MY shed it is the garden shed and He is the one who said he would paint it... me I hire out for this kind of thing.
