It seems that the koi was not sedated enough as it was moving a lot while being injected with the medication.

Not sure I'd have that guy injecting my fish. Why not two drops of whatever he was using to sedate the fish? Certainly I'd not throw it back into the pond to recover that way.

Jackie, I agree with you on that, my buddies and myself go fishing a lot we catch and release and we never put our catch back that way. :-)

I like my guys to be out of it better then that if I have to work on them. They stay netted till upright and swimming on thier own before I let them go. Maybe this guy has done it so many times he knows what to expect, or he's just become complacent about the whole thing.

I think it surprised both of them, his assistant mumbled something and he reassured him everything was OK... showing the koi 10 minutes later for our benefit. It's my guess that they used stock footage as that koi was about to bite the beach!

I'm surprised he didn't stab himself with the needle with that fish splashing around.......I agree I would have waited till the fish was a bit more with it before putting it back, but then I guess he knows what he's doing.

Just because people post pictures of things on the internet does not mean they know what they are doing. This guy would not babysit my fish for the weekend.

Maybe he figured that the koi won't survive so it doesn't matter how it's treated. :flamer:
