With being sick for months.....and not being able to do much, the pond has been put on the back burner. The filters weren't cleaned for a couple of months. Gary will help me with any electrical or plumbing, will feed the fish, but not anything else....so the pond has gotten real yukky. I have started trying to clean it....cleaning out the 2 filters, one one day, the other the next, then starting over again. They are disgusting.
We have had ALOT of rain, and some terrible hail storms, and I think this is messing up the water too. You couldn't see anything below the surface - altho now you can see down 1/2 way. I am trying to shop vac a little every day....and its getting better.
The fish tho, are another problem. I will have a lily open, and the next day its gone. The fish are destroying the lilies...and I don't know why. If they are not fed by 3, they start on the lilies, buds and leaves. Bad, bad, fish. So, all the little pieces are somewhere on the bottom.
I am trying to add new water every day.....a couple hundred gallons (on a well).

This morning, I added some PP (I know, I know) and will do a second dose later. Hopefully this will help some.

I just don't know what else to do. I can't get in the pond to take out the lilies.....so they will continue to be destroyed.

I just wish I felt a little better.......gotta get this pond clean before winter sets in...

I'm having similar problems and can't get in to fix the lilies either. Try feeding the fish a bit more food or give them a romaine lettuce tied on a string to pull at. Watermelon slices work for some as do oranges cut in half. Different fish like different things. Much like kids.

Glad to see you are getting better, even if it is slower than you'd like. Don't over do it, winter is long way off yet.
