I inherited a pond with my house purchase and need some advice. It's about 2800 gallons with a waterfall and stream. It was neglected and overun when I moved in and I just cleaned it out, it had alot of gravel in it. The pond has a skimmer and a waterfall box, with filters in both. I need help deciding what to do from here. I want to install a bottom drain, but have a bunch of questions. Will the two filters I have currently be enough? They seem really small. I think I need to install more filters since I took the gravel out. Please help. Also the pump is dead, so I know I have to get a new one. It is an external pump, I can't read the size or brand. I also need to know the order to hook everything up to the pump.
Thanks for any help!

Sounds like you inherited an Aquascape System. Very popular water features in yards. I have a modified one myself.
A few pics of what you have will help along with what you want to do with the pond. Form follows function even in ponds. Wanting lots of lilies and a few goldfish or no fish requires different plumbing that a pond containing koi.
Let us know and we will be glad to help out.

Thanks for the help. I will post pictures soon! I want koi. The plants would be more of a bonus.

With koi you definately need the bottom drain so you are on the right track. My hybrid AS system is 5,000 and 5 ft deep. Depth is one of the things you will want to consider for koi and with our climate overwintering.
