Hi Everyone, (The stranger is back!)

I've been called a mother on several occasions, but never a daddy!

Thought I'd share a few photos of my wakin, just a few days old.

After several days waiting for my fry to hatch, with no luck, I decided my wakin eggs were infertile, so I threw half of the egg covered plants back into the koi pond... koi kids had a feast! Hung on to the other half just in case. After 5 days of incubation I thought I saw something moving.... Now, nine days after laying I have hundreds (yes hundreds) of baby wakin. Hope I can keep them alive? Now that some are free swimming, I am feeding them cooked egg yolk. Going out tonight to the pet store to pick up food supplements! Any pointers would be welcomed at this point.

KD

Do you have a goldfish pond as well KD or just the koi pond. If Wakin are anything like regular goldfish, mine always did fine in the pond with their parents. The adult goldies never seemed to bother with them once the eggs hatched. Do Wakin spawn all summer long like regular goldies as well? If they do, you may not be quite as excited about all these babies soon, ha, ha.

Use your blue QT tank. Let it green up a bit and add your fry. use air bubblers with filters on them. Have fun DAD :HAHA:

The easiest is to put them in the pond where there is lots of food for them. A few will be eaten mostly by mistake but most of them will grow and eat you out of house and home.
