Hello All
Please find a link for the above. Will these units replace the use of pp on a regular basis and raise ORP levels?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BRAND-NEW-Affo...QQcmdZViewItem
Are they safe to use in conjuction with an ORP meter?
They are supposed to be fitted after filtration and U.V. is there any chance that ozone could reach the koi?
Note the spec What does this mean in terms usefulnes /safty etc
ozone performance max. 15 mg O3/h
ozone concentration in the water phase max. 750 ppb (= 0.75 mg/ℓ)
ozone concentration in the gas phase max. 10 weight%
Once the ozone is spent does this add oxygen to the pond?
Your thoughts would be appreciated

This unit sounds like a safe alternative to ozone reactors/generators,.. the production of ozone is limited/slow but enough to do what's asked along with rate of conversion back to O2 seeming to be very fast - no need for a degassing tower. Depending on the users pond volume/stocking level multiple units may be required, upfront cost maybe high but long term cost appears very reasonable. Added cost.. having an ORP meter to monitor levels I would think is a must with Ozone use.

If the commerical reports are valid/true then those who wish to implement the use of Ozone into their pond system should be pleased with the results.

Dave, the product is listed for the same price at Absolute Koi (http://www.absolute-koi.com/prod1050.html), they also sell the replacement cells.

I'm sitting on the fence about Ozone use in koi ponds, reasons are many.

I noticed on this site:

http://www.koicarp.org.uk/koi_water_garden_ozone.htm

That they suggest the 40mg unit is appropriate for ponds up to 500 gallons and an 80mg unit for ponds up to 1,000 gallons. So... Someone with a 2,000 gallon koi pond would need two 80 mg units or four 40 mg units (and obviously this would double or quadruple the cell replacement costs).

SO...

Terri, I am wondering if we don't need as much ozone as some places recommend to obtain a benefit? I had wondered about adding ozone in combination with a foam fractionator, I had read that fractionating with ozone removes a lot of DOC from the water, and also sterilizes it.

But perhaps we don't need as much ozone to benefit?
