Have a look at my flickr account and see the hummingbirds in my garden. For once they stayed still and I got some nice shots.

WOW! Those are great! Lucky you - mine just keep moving too much.
Beautiful pics Jackie. Looks like a pretty little female. I have loads of them around too, never have the camera around when I see them.

I've more this year than past years. Took some time to get the shots, they are fast little things. You should see all the blur shots :HAHA:

Feel free to snope in the albums anytime KD. I've just started the account so am not that well organized. I like that I don't have to resize each pic to upload it. I can set the size I want and upload 30 or 40 pix all at once.
Oh My Jackie. Make sure you save them and send them into Animal Planets photo contest for next year. They are great

Thanks Peg, a couple of them are very lucky shots. Flickr has some terrific photos of hummingbirds as well as other things. My problem is spending too much time looking at others pix

Great pics Jackie, we have a bunch here in Georgia too. They can't wait till the yard is landscaped. What to buy my house in NE PA? :frisbee:

Gosh Chuck I can't afford the one I have. Sorry to hear that it is still for sale. We've heard on the news here that the market there is very soft on sales with the scandal about the mortgages.

Well you are one up on me for sure, never held one. Closest was holding a hummingbird moth, but not the same.
Hummers were around this morning but would not sit and pose for pictures... darn things then buzzed me after I gave up and was sitting at the patio.

Jackie your pictures are stunning, much better then mine. I watched the other day as a pair flew around and the flowers and then stopped at the feeder, (which is about empty and I need to take down as I was always told to stop feeding the begining of Sept. so they will migrate better) one was feeding and as the other approached the one dropped down and hung by it's feet to let the other one in, of course my shutter speed on this digital is so slow I didn't get both, only the one hanging and it's taken from inside so not the best but interesting.

I've never seen hummers share even a back yard. They are territorial to the max. Must be two juveniles from the same nest. Cute shot.

my parents will have many come to their feeder at their cabin at once. I was amazed counted 8 all at once one day when I was up there. But normaly yes I have only ever seen one at a time. And when I looked at the other pictures I have from that day it's hard to see a tail so it's possible they were juvinelles, I've read they can look tailess when young.

It may be when food is scarce they learn to share. I remember being at my mother's and they had 3 feeders on different sides of the house and this one male tried to guard all three. :HAHA:
