Sorry for all the pics, but I'm a real rose nut. I wish you could smell them, it's amazing how they perfume the whole garden, pleasantly though, not enough to drive you out of it like some of my mothers lilies do :HAHA:

Have to start deadheading some of the bushes today. Takes forever, that's when I start to think, what on earth was I thinking planting so many of these things.

The first pic is just looking up the garden around 6:00 Friday morning. My favorite time of day. Yes, I'm one of those hated morning people :HAHA: Baxter wouldn't let me put the hose away, so it's included in the shot no charge...little monster wanted to play tug of war with it, so in the shot it stays.

You've really created a wonderful space Cindy. I can imagine how nice it smells. The few roses I have are just starting to bloom now but my garden is shadier than yours. Nothing gets sun all day here, not even the pond which is in the sunniest spot.

I have honeysuckle in full bloom now and I can't stay in that part of the garden it is soooo strong, then of course Smith likes to shake the vine so its even worse.

Thanks guys. I've killed my fair share of roses. Only grow antique roses now and english roses. Big blousy highly scented flowers and tough as nails. The english ones are a little spindly until they get through the first growing season, but after that their fine. No black spot problems, no winter care, just a big feed in the spring and lots of deadheading for the summer....I mean lots
Had to rescue Baxter out of the centre rose bed this morning. With his coat the roses stick to him like velcro :HAHA:

With Baxter's fur I'd not grow forgetmenots. buddy is a total mess of seeds right now and he's been cut back once. Even Skipper who doesn't explore the garden beds has them. I grow them in memory of Tanya our siamese cat who died 18 years ago. Some pets are just unforgetable. Her eyes were the exact match of the flowers.

You must be counting the days now for the new pup.

Absolutely excited and the countdown to new puppy is on. We get Bentley a week today!.
I know what you mean about special pets. I had a himi named Toby years ago. He's resting up in the rock garden now beside his best buddy Maxi. He was our first cat and he had the most beautiful blue eyes. I still miss him.
Baxter has taken to using the small boxwood hedge around the obolisk as a fort. He loves jumping all over the boxwoods. Me thinks that between him and Bentley they'll have to be replaced in a few years
