My calico fantail is laying eggs again. Only problem is, they aren't being fertalized, and they get eaten immediately. The eggs don't last more than 5 seconds, and some are being expelled right into my koi's and minnow's mouths.
Why aren't they being fertilized?
Do you have male goldies in there with her? Do you see any of them chasing her around, takes a few hours to see if you have fertilized eggs, they change colour. If you do have males, are they old enough to breed yet?

If you really want fry you need to place the female and 2 males in a tank to spawn, once spawning is over, remove all fish.

I have 1 female and 2 males. both males have chased her and helped expell the eggs. I will soon move the koi and minows out to a pond, then maybe there is a chance of a successfull spawning.

It will be hard to catch the minnows! May be easier to remove the 3 fish you want to spawn and then you can raise the fry.
