I'm excited to get these out of the kiln today. Don't normally show things before they are finished but I guess I needed the pick me up these gave me today. These are the first ones for a gallery show I will be part of in Port Carling this summer.

Very nice Jackie. Tell me, we have a lot of fence going around the yard. 7 feet high wood fence and have been thinking of adding some interesting features on it in places. Would tiles last outside, or are they an indoor only type thing?

Cindy the tiles themselves would survive Pompei but the backing material and adheasive need to be weather proof. So yes to the tiles question. I have several outside around the pond.
This one hangs protected under the underhang of the house and is framed in oak. Two years now and it still looks like this. Exposed on a fence... not the same

OMG, that is beautiful, I love the ones in the oak frame. That's what I'm talking about, wonderful on the fence framed by some vines I think. I'll have to look into what could be done about protecting them fromt he elements. I'd bring them in over the winter of course, but they'd have to be able to deal with rain. Cedar instead of oak would be a start....just protecting the backing and using weather proof adheisive.

Awesome work Glammy! Did Smith make the frame?

Yes, poor put upon Smith made the frame. complaining that it was his antique oak he had been saving for years.... duh, what good is an antique bit of wood out in the garage  He used the rest of the oak to frame two other pieces.
He will cut the board for the new one and a stack of other tiles waiting to be mounted today. Not sure if he will get the frame for it done today but we will see.

Others, aren't on the drawing board as yet. I have the Gravenhurst Gallery and the Neilson Park show to prepare for before this show. Also have applications outstanding so.... Who'd have thought being an artist would be so much work!!!
