Hot water tank is leaking
Called the gas company, supposed to be someone here within the next 4 hours. I sure hope so.....I don't really want to have an ice cold shower at 4:00 tomorrow morning before I head off to work.

At least it's located near the drain in the basement so the water hasn't gone all over the place.

Leaking water bad. :-x We just refilled our daughter's waterbed after moving it in her room and guess what? It's been patched several times before, I think it's time for a new one.

Cindy, if your water heater isn't leaking too bad take your shower tonite and then shut it off if you can, cold showers are no fun.

We had to replace our water heater and the gas company was great, arrived on time, took old away and a week later a guy came and checked to make sure it was installed properly for maximum efficiency. No leak for us, just no hot water. I'm still hoping for a tankless one in the future though.

Hopethe morning shower is a warm one.

Well, it just gets better and better,

Right after the gas guy came (who told us they'll be sending a replacement sometime today), my dad calls and says mom can't get out of the tub. By the time I get there there are 2 ambulances and one of them is carting mom off to the hospital. I think she has phnemonia (sp), anyway, I spend most of the night there in emerg....her and dad still there I think, her colour was much better when I left them, but poor dad is 75 now, I'm sure he's pretty tired too, tried to talk him into going home and getting some sleep while I was there but he wouldn't have any part of it. Went home to grab a cold shower and a couple of hours sleep, now into work to do what absolutely must be done and then I'll be heading back off to the hospital to see what's up....hubby will be holding down the fort at home for the hot water tank.

Cindy I am sorry about your Mom. Life sure is making things exciting for you. Just don't let them send her home if you think she isn't ready... they just push them out now with no thought to who is at home to help.

Sorry to hear about your mom too, take care so you and your dad don't get run down also. I hope things start going the other way now!

Thanks for all your kind thoughts.

Looks like mom likely had a small stroke. She's still in the hospital and finally got into a room tonight.....imagine, takes almost 24 hours to get into a room now days. Anyway, finally talked dad into going home and getting some rest now that she's comfortable.

On the plus side the hot water heater was replaced today, so at least I can have a nice long hot bath.

Looks like it's going to be a long week.

My dad had a small stoke a couple of months ago, actually brought on by his chemotherapy drug according to the doctors, he's no worse for the incident but sure is scary when it happens. Hang in there. :)

Strokes can be pretty frightening but recovery can be totally amazing. A friend's father recently had a series of strokes to the point where he could not speak or swallow. he is now walking with assistance, speaking and eating. Just moved today to a rehab facility and looks forward to his exercises. He is 93 years old and until this was still living on his own.

Remember to pace yourself though. These are trying things to go through.

Sorry to hear about your mom Cindy, your dad must be beside himself with worry - glad you were able to get him to take some time to rest. Best wishes to your mom that she makes a speedy & healthy recovery :)

What a difference 24 hours can make. Mom looked wonderful when I went to see her after work yesterday. No more IV and O2 tubes, colour is back, strength is back, amazing. Heartbeat is still irregular and the doctors still don't know what the problem was or is, doing lots of tests, but at least she's almost back to her old self now and pawing at the ground to get out of there I might add.

Good news, thanks for keeping us up to date. Best get the tests done while she is there, the wait line is long as an out patient.

They discharged mom yesterday evening. No stroke or heart attack. Turns out her heart had gotten out of sinc. Controlled now through medication. She looks great and very happy to be out.

I bet you are so relieved, been dealing with ailing relatives the last few months, it's not fun and can be very heart wrenching, so glad to hear things are better.
