On new post, is it possible to make them last longer...say like a day? They seem to dissappear rather quickley? This will give people more time to respond.

In my understanding a post since your last visit is new but when you visit the board, so once you have visited it is not new to you anymore but is still new to those who have not visited... does that make sense?

wow, I understood that Jackie :) What I was referring to was the length of time a post stays in the new catagorie. Take koiphen for example. I can visit it in the morning and it's usually there at night giving more people time to respond.

Finally figured out what you were talking about. The time limit for new posts is like 10 minutes of logging onto the site.... oh Terri could we have longer please

See... it can't be done... I've looked and looked and the 'new post' time seems set in stone
... that's what i get for 'stone-aged' scripts. Moving (upgrading) the board community would change all these little behind the times issues.
