Does anyone have or know where I can find a photo of "healthy" gills?
I'm trying to decide how much damage was done with my fishes' gill tissue from the bacterial gill disease, but I have nothing to compare it to.

I have to net up some fish tomorrow, will try to remember to take a few pics and post them.
I can tell you that the photo's you posted are far from normal, the is swelling and a gummy look about them.
BTW, how are they doing? Hope better...

Time will tell, we're off for vacation tomorrow. They're all salted, water changed and tested. They should be fine with the pre-measured food baggies for a week.
My poor house/animal sitter, I've got 3 cats, one is 18 years old, 3 dogs, one is 13 and another is 3 months, sickly fish (although there is not much more I would do for them but feed them this week)
Knock on wood everyone will be fine.
I hope there's no power outtage or spawn, I don't think the fish could handle either without immediate attention. I told her not to worry if one of them passes, that if it were to happen there's not much more that could have been done. She knows they have been ill.
I have enough anxiety about going away anyway, it's been compounded this month with sick fish and puppies!
I'll let you know how they are in a week.

Have a good vacation. Relaxing is what you need.
BTW the gills pics you posted, although are not healthy are great shots. I haven't seen such good shots of healthy ones.
