View Full Version : Kh/gh
HI Everyone.
I did a water test today and Things looked good. I do have one question though My KH read 70 and my GH read 100 . What is the correct range I should be in for these tests. And how do I adjust them to be correct. KH If I recall what Ive read is low. Kinda lost in this area. Any advice you have would be great
thanks

At 70 the KH is a bit low, it seems the current number should be closer to 200, from what I have been reading. I'm content at 120 or more for my needs. A bit of baking soda, yes that old Arm and Hammer stuff you use for freshening the fridge or laundry is all that is needed.
GH is harder to change and 100 is a good number, not to hard not too soft.
Thanks Jackie, thats what I thought. Is there a baking soda water ratio. Ex.so many tbs per gallon or is it done my adding small amounts untill you reach the number needed. Im trying to get things right with the little pond so when the big pond goes in this summer I will have a general idea of what I am doing.

You have to register but Roark never spams you or sells you off to the dreaded spammers. He has lots of good calculators on baking soda and other things.
Site seems down this morning.... I haven't been in a while
